5 Back Pain Prevention Exercises

As you saw in my last post, the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) is making a series of short exercise videos created by health and fitness professionals. This video stars Eva Redpath demonstrating a few simple exercises that anyone can try. These are exercises that I commonly prescribe for patients with low back pain. But occasionally, small modifications need to be made to the exercise to suit your individual needs.

5 Back Pain Prevention Exercises

  1. Diaphragmatic Breathing

  2. Cat and Camel

  3. Brettzel

  4. Deadbug Progression

  5. Bird Dog

If you experience any pain while completing these stretches, they may not be right for you. Or perhaps, you aren't ready to perform them just yet. But just because you can't do them today doesn't mean that will never be able to do them. The human body is incredibly adaptive and the more you perform a certain activity the better you will get at doing it.

Give them a try and let me know what you think!
